The Rite/Ayin is a film inspired by true events, depicting the story of Michael Kovak (Colin O'Donoghue), a theology student sent to the Vatican to investigate exorcism rituals despite his doubts about his own faith. Michael, who wears skepticism as his armor, challenges his superiors to look for psychiatric elements rather than demons behind cases of possession.

However, when he is sent to work with Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins), known for his unconventional methods and thousands of exorcisms, Michael's armor begins to crack. Witnessing a violent and terrifying evil that even Father Lucas cannot handle, he is confronted with an inexplicable and uncontrollable event that causes him to question everything he believes in.

Directed by Mikaël Hafstrom, The Rite/Ayin stars Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins, Colin O'Donoghue in his first leading role, Alice Braga, Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, and Rutger Hauer.
